The Killing Joke

The Killing Joke

I finished this book in 24 hours. The writing style isn't exactly gripping; instead it kind of ambles along congenially, like your friendly neighbourhood stray wandering down the street. What kept me turning the pages was the story. I wondered how the author was going to insert another joke in the prose without digressing from the storyline.

Some of the public's favourite jokes make guest appearances here ("Waiter, there's a fly in my soup!" or "why did the chicken cross the road?")

In a story about jokes, the author manages not to make the book seem like a bad joke itself. An enjoyable read for a cool evening in bed.
